  • R&L: Introduce us to your work. What got you interested in singing and music?

Keneisenuo: I always had that zeal to sing when I was young, but I never really had the courage to stand in front of others. The initial stage started with practices done at home and a had a breakthrough moment when I sang ‘The Call’ by Regina Spektor at our school farewell.

  • R&L: How have your roots and upbringing influenced your music?

Keneisenuo: With no mentor or music class, I practiced on my own. Initially, I was influenced by our local singers such as Virie, Zaza, and MJ Jamir who have the same upbringing.

  • R&L: What’s your creative and work philosophy? Where do you take inspiration from?
Keneisenuo: I am fascinated with contemporary and old sad songs. I feel this genre can move a soul deeply. Music to me has its beginning from my creator, God, and all glory and honor are due to Him.
  • R&L: What do you hope people take away from your music?

Keneisenuo: I hope people connect with the songs I perform as much as I connect to them while presenting them.

  • R&L: what are you working on at the moment?

Keneisenuo: I recently did some cover songs in collaboration with Clef Ensemble which are all available on YouTube. There will be more covers coming and of course, my original songs which I’m hoping to release very soon. Stay tuned!
