Making a career out of what you love doing is exactly what Viketuno, a young artist from Kohima, Nagaland has done with ‘Yours Craftfully’. With her brand of cute handmade crafts, we can see the passion she puts into every piece she creates. More importantly, her cards remind us of our school days where we used to pour our hearts and hours into making handmade cards for every occassion.
From bookmarks to cards, every one of her creations has her signature doodle on them, which gives it a cute and customised personal touch. Today, we feature Viketuno of ‘Yours Craftfully’ as she talks about what sparked her interest and what influences her.
We chat with Viketuno, a 21-year-old student from Nagaland, who also runs her arts and crafts venture called “Yours Craftfully” She talks about her passion for art, Doodling, and handmade crafts.
Hello Vike, please introduce yourself.
Hi, My name is Viketuno Sanyü. I am 21 years old from Kohima and am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in English language. I make handmade cards and other craft items and showcase/sell them under the brand name “Yours Craftfully”
How has your upbringing inspired you to start “Yours Craftfully”? Where else do you take inspiration from?
As a young girl, I doodled on every empty spot on whatever paper I could get my hands on. I spent my childhood drawing, painting, sewing and making crafts out of recycled materials. I’ve always been passionate about arts and crafts. My Grandma also encouraged me to get involved in homemade/handmade crafts and activities and so I would spend a lot of my leisure time at home on craft-making. My mother, too, has always been and will always be my inspiration. She is incredibly creative and seeing her turn her visions and ideas into real, tangible things inspired me to do the same. This passion is what drove me to start “Yours Craftfully”
“During my school days, we used to have art & craft classes, which used to be my favorite period. I still remember learning how to make cards, paper bags, frames, etc. I valued that time because I got to do what I truly loved. “Yours Craftfully” is my way of continuing with my most beloved art & craft classes.”

“Also, I often draw, paint or sketch leaves, flowers, succulents, and trees. I am inspired by nature and all the beauty it offers!”

What do you hope people take away from your creations?
I often write my favorite quotes or Bible passages on my cards and bookmarks. These are words that have made a significant impact in my life at some point and continue to inspire me and so I put them in my cards in hopes that it does the same to those reading them.
“I know that what I do may not necessarily affect a lot of people but if in any small way, it motivates people or makes them feel better then that’s enough for me. I hope to do my bit in spreading positivity in a world that’s sadly often filled with negativity. My dream for “Yours Craftfully” is to put smiles on people’s faces.”
