A Visit to the Traditional House in Zhavame Village, Nagaland

There are cold days – broken hopes – and dreams– but hearts – warmed – by kindness . . . .

“We are sitting against the backdrop of a traditional house in Zhavame village under Phek district, adorned with wood carvings that signifies that the owner of the house has performed ‘Feast of Merit’ several times. This was considered as the highest social status in the olden days. On occasions, it is also a common sight for village folks to sit around the fire in the frontage of the house and discuss issues.” ~ Rita Krocha
