North- East in general have never been alien with  Korean drama / music/ fashion /beauty also popularly known as Hallyu wave and Nagaland even saw the first Korea-India music festival in the year 2008 under the Government of Nagaland and South Korea making K-POP even more prominent among the younger generation. With the rising popularity of PSY’s Gangnam style  , Hallyu wave is no longer region specific and India has marked its map on the K-POP fandom and it is definitely here to stay .

The “Changwon K-POP World festival” happens every year and it is a unique festival organized by South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) . It is a world-wide event for K-pop fans with a fierce competition in the biggest scale where the preliminary rounds held in around 70 countries single out a representative for the final stage in Changwon, South Korea.

India has produced two stars from the competition, vocalist ‘Priyanka
Mazumdar’ who won 3 rd Prize in the 2016 edition, and dance team ‘Immortals Army’ who won 2nd Prize in 2017.

This year the K-POP World festival India started its online auditions on 16th April and moved on with 10 regionals across various cities of India where the best was selected to compete in the national level here at New Delhi for the GRAND FINALE.
