Te Amo, Nihon: A Spanish Artist’s Love Affair with Japan – A Chat with Elsa from Tokyo

“I have always loved Japan. It’s history, art and culture. Even before coming to see it for myself I knew I wanted to spend time in this country, especially in Tokyo!” – Elsa (@bunnytokyo) Japan is a  country that defines art, culture and tradition in a way that perhaps, no other country can match up to! Not only is their history doused in fascinating tales but the discipline with which they carry on their traditions without appearing imperious is probably what makes non-Japanese people fall in love with the country; and that’s exactly what happened to  Elsa – the artist who  moved to Tokyo from Spain. She understood almost immediately that  the diverse and idiosyncratic culture of Japan is what breeds creativity and art and that flow was perpetual Here’s  a little information about Elsa Elsa is originally from Spain and she studied Broadcasting and Production in college. She now lives in Tokyo with her husband and it was both their dream, to move to the East after visiting the region for the first time …

Faces | Human of Shadows, Mumbai

“Shadows are inseparable from us. Doesn’t matter if we can see it or not depending on the light source, but we are never alone. And what happens if we become our own shadow? Mumbai is a dream city for many. When I saw this person who had made a big sewage tunnel his home, I wondered did he also land in this city with some dreams? What were those? Dif they get shattered? While I was silently taking this picture as my heart sank thinking about the life of this shadow human, he turned back and that was the moment that was captured. And he turned back with a big smile; literally posing for the picture! Making me realize: No matter what, keep smiling.”  @ banjara_musafir

Faces | A Day Spent at Chok Chai Farm,Thailand

“Me and my friend were passing through the Khorat province of Thailand, when we accidentally spotted a farm and decided to pull over and check it out. We discovered that it was the popular Chok Chai Farm – that houses in numerous animals like cows, sheep, horses, chickens and more. We decided to stay back there for a while. Most surprisingly, we even got to experience milking the cow, feeding the sheep, riding horses and basically watching the animals being on their own. We had an amazing time!” @t.prang

This Artistic Girl-Duo from Hong Kong Are Our Favourite Florists on Instagram

Carefully arranged pictures of pretty flowers on Instagram have become blooming works of art since a few years. Come winter and indoor hobbies like flower arrangements serve as an inspiration to the millions of us trying to create beauty for our own Hygge-inspired lives. Tiny Callistemon fruit branches and long stems of Chinese Ixora used innovatively as installation art on a terrace garden. A Van Gogh inspired Vincent Blue bouquet. A lone Gerbera lights up a meal at home shared with friends and family. These are just a few of the stunning floral art captured on Moonshinefolk’s Instagram, that recently caught the eye of one of our curators. Moonshinefolk is an art project started by the creative duo, Manki Lai and Helen Cheung. “Our common interest in flowers brought us together,” says Manki. Helen is a copywriter who was learning flower arrangement at the time Moonshine was conceived. Manki is a graphic designer who loves …
