“Getaway to the Snow-Covered Dhauladhar in Himachal Pradesh During My Stressful Medical Internship was Like Hitting the Jackpot for my Soul” – Dr. Deepshikha Chhettri

“It was one of the most beautiful day we have experienced together. The one on the left is Arshika – my best friend of ten years, and the one on the right is my sister Ruchika. It was around 3 PM in the evening, and this photo was taken during our trip to Dhauladhar trails in Himachal Pradesh enroute to Triund top. The evening had a very pleasant and warm vibe despite the chilly weather. The chill made us hungry so we stopped on our way to rest for some time and eat. This moment is all the more special because I was with my two favourite people. The entire trip was mind-blowing – with so much to discover – and with an abundance of nature’s beauty to soak in. Memories from the trip will be forever etched in my memory as one of the best treks of my life. Moreover, this was at a time when I was a medical intern in Delhi, and anything remotely green and quiet felt like heaven for me. …

“This picture was taken one pleasant afternoon of October last year – on our trek to Dzukou Valley, located at the border of the states of Manipur and Nagaland in North-East India. It was five of us and we are all college mates. This trip, so far has to be the most memorable trip I have ever taken and my friends said the same. We enjoyed every single moment of it, being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We were least bothered by the unavailability of electricity and phone networks because of the blissful moments we were enjoying such as bonfire, music, long conversations, etc. We spent two nights completely under the sky light and it was an amazing experience. Hands down! Dzukou Valley is one of the most beautiful place on Earth – so pristine, that you will feel like you are in heaven.” – Antariksha Kumari Antariksha Rajkumari and her friends, trekking to Dzukou Valley – located at the border of the states of Manipur and Nagaland in north-east India. Badal On A Trip To Krang Shuri – A New Tourist Hot Spot in Meghalaya

Recently, my expedition took me to yet another unexplored site in the hills of Meghalaya. It seemed as if nature has blessed these hills with innumerable locations that travelers from afar get attracted to. Here’s how it began. After almost an hour journeying from Shillong towards Jowai, then taking another 45 minutes towards Amlarem, we finally reached our destination, Krang Shuri. A beautiful bliss of nature and a must visit for everyone travelling to Meghalaya. You would need to walk another kilometer or so to reach the location but on the way,  you can see the waterfall from a distance. My friend, who came along couldn’t resist taking a picture. From this place walk for about 5 minutes and you will reach the ticket counter. A minimum of ₹30 per person is charged as an entry free to Krang Shuri. Upon entry, we saw a huge crowd carrying their life jacket (for safety of course) heading towards a mini dam like structure where you could swim. We arrived near the natural pool and the first …

Mutual Respect over Visual Divides | Story of a Wooden Gate in Arunachal

“The gate that divides two Brokpa (Yak herders) territories. Just a simple wooden gate and no barbed wires or fences or whatsoever. Because mutual respect for ethics is what matters, and not visual divides” ~ Photo & caption by @thetravelling_pants “This picture was taken when trekking through the route used only by Brokpas (yak herders) of Lubrang- Naga-GG belt. The wooden gate that you see here (in the photo) is supposedly the border – a mark of divide between the Brokpa territories. There is no tension between the two places, just a customary mark. Beautiful to observe how mutual respect for ethics is what matters and not visual divides.”  Lubrang and Naga-GG are both small villages that comes under Dirang circle of West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh. This place is not known to any tourists yet, and it offers an exotic trek of about 2 and a half hours, probably 5 kms, give or take one. The trek route crosses some really breathtaking views. Green pastures and in them grazing mules, sheep and yaks, splendid alpine …
