Some days in the past, it was largely the job of a handful of glossy print magazines to decide the taste in fashion. Today however, the times have changed and now the style influencers have dispersed into innumerable blogs, Instagram posts and other platforms – all of them grabbing the attention of the people.
Today, we have Tiapong Tzudir from Nagaland, a fashion enthusiast with a YouTube channel of his own, sharing his little adventure with fashion!
A chat with Tiapong Tzudir, student and fashion enthusiast from Nagaland. He talks about how his interest in fashion started, his inspirations and some of his favorite trends for Spring’19!

For a starter, tell us a little about yourself.
I’m Tiapong Tzudir, my social media handle is – The Yatra Kid. I go to college. I love creating contents for my YouTube. And I cannot lie that I love to dress up.
-
As you have mentioned, you run a YouTube channel, and you are a student. With so much happening for you, how do you manage time?
I quite manage well since I make sure these two things don’t affect my college life; though sometimes they do. I love exploring and getting pictures of stylish people on the streets and saying that I’m doing a project or just mentions any imaginary website’s name. And that’s the only thing that affects me most times.
Tiapong Tzudir wears his cargo pants high up the waist, looking stylish and pairs it with half-sleeve shirt, with a basic white tee underneath. The black combat boots tie the look together!
Tiapong wears a black dungaree over pink sweatshirt and finished the look with a pair of white converse.
Tiapong makes the all-black look all the more dapper with by layering a printed shirt underneath.

How did your interest in fashion start and what drew you to clothes?
Instagram and Pinterest played an important role in leaning me towards fashion. During my initial days of getting into this industry, I used to stalk and admire @nagastreetstyle and always wanted to be featured there and that’s one reason why I was drawn towards it.
-
From where do you draw your inspirations in your clothing style from?
As mentioned, Instagram and Pinterest are my favorite go to pass times. I love creating so many boards on my Pinterest depending on different occasions and different trends every season.

Share us some of your favorite trends for Spring-2019.
Spring for me is all about getting my favorite sneakers and basic tee and going out. I am all up for being comfy, I am a college goer and comfortable clothes are what I need. We live in apartments, paying guests and hostels that are far from the institute that we go to. Until and unless we end up going to some events, it’s always for minimal and being laid back. Not forgetting, my love for neon trend is hiking up my radar and I most definitely cannot wait to style them up this spring.

We believe, everyone has a unique style. Tell us about your uniqueness and how does it makes you different from the rest.
I love experimenting. I pick out things that I don’t find really conventional and trendy and that’ where I think I look unique. Thrifting and finding the rare pieces definitely makes me stand out from the rest.
-
Lastly, let us in on your aims and motives, what you want to draw out from all in influencing people.
I would definitely love to be a successful fashion blogger and a vlogger some day. I love thrifting and I want to greatly influence people to start thrifting more, getting things that are sustainable and has a story to tell. I just hope someday this industry will be filled with people who love to thrift instead of those high street brands that are not sustainable and eco-friendly.
