Today, we present to you a special dish, ‘Pan fried chicken thigh served with purple rice’ – by Thanyo Lungleng, passionate cook and home baker from Manipur. She said her dish is inspired by famous Japanese Tori Katsu. Let’s find out! Thanyo’s dish ‘Pan fried Chicken thigh served with purple sticky rice’ inspired by Japanese Tori Katsu. Ingredients : Boneless chicken thigh (2 pieces) Sticky rice (2 cups) Butter (2 tbsp) Ginger and Garlic paste (2 tbsp) Red dried chilli (4) Coriander (1 gm) Salt to taste Directions to cook : STEP 1 : First marinate the boneless chicken thigh in salt, 1 tbsp paste of ginger and garlic overnight. Recipe | Manipuri Black Sticky Rice Kheer

Sticky rice kheer is a home-made dessert dish, usually taken as an afternoon meal in North East India. Local folks generally make this sweet dish during the winter and rainy seasons. This version of sticky rice kheer is from Manipur, and is made with a mixture of both black and white sticky rice (can be done without mixing too), milk, cardamom, bayleaf and some dry nuts. Sticky rice is another favorite of the people in Nagaland. It can be eaten simply as a rice substitute for meals, or as an afternoon snack. Usually eaten with a chutney, it is one of the best afternoon snacks to be relished with a hot cup of tea on a cold rainy day. There are a variety of sticky rice available in the region; the ones we have used here is a mix of white and red sticky rice, and the end result has a beautiful dark red finish.  Ingredients: 3-4 cups of sticky rice(mix of white and red rice) 3-4 cups of hot boiling water Directions to Cook the Rice: Wash the rice and put it into a pressure cooker Pour hot boiling water and pressure cook for 20-25 mins Rice is ready!
