  • R&L: Hi! Super excited to be having this chat with y’all. The last time we heard about you and your music was through Arenjungla (your biggest fan at the time!) – way back in 2016. Please introduce yourself to our readers.

Tune up Channel: Thank you so much for having us. We are a band called ‘Tune Up Channel’ all the way from Nagaland. The band today is made up of Sunep A Jamir (vocals), Ayu N Mongro (keyboard), Temjen Lemtur (guitar), Meren (bass), and Avizo (drums).

We all started out playing for different bands, and that’s how we met each other..through various music forums and shows. Later on, we all took a break from all the respective bands, and we eventually decided to come together as the ‘Tune Up Channel.’

  • R&L: It’s difficult to keep a band together for years .. what keeps you going? What do u guys want listeners to take away from your music?

Tune up Channel: To stick together no matter what, and to keep writing songs that keep us excited to share with anyone who enjoys ’em. We want people to listen to our stories through our songs and just enjoy the good music. Of course, it’s not easy as we are still small-time musicians, but we have decided that we are gonna stick together no matter what happens, and with God’s grace we are able to survive till now.

  • R&L: Tell us about the new single ‘A Letter.‘ What or who was the inspiration behind this song?

Sunep Jamir-Vocalist: This song talks about trying to get back lost love. I got the inspiration from a friend’s story who was trying desperately to go back to his ex-lover.

Sunep Jamir – Vocalist, Tune Up Channel Nagaland

  • R&L: Yea.. the lyrics are so beautifully crafted. Loved it! The MV is super cool. What was the idea behind that?

Sunep Jamir-Vocalist: Our guitarist Temjen came up with the video idea. To use a retro theme. The rest of us liked the idea and we all worked together on the final version. And we got big help from the videographer – Kohdi Jings to make the final MV.

  • R&L: Tel us about the costumes. Did you guys have a professional costume/wardrobe stylist?

Sunep Jamir-Vocalist: Nah. We got our own stuff, putting together what we have to achieve the final retro vibes:p
