We had a quick chat with Rinreichon Angkang from Manipur to talk about her debut book ‘Blue is not one of her favorite colors’
Hi Rinrei, please tell us a little about yourself.
Hello, I’m Rinreichon Angkang, 20-years-old from Ukhrul, Manipur but I’m currently based in Shillong, Meghalaya pursuing my B.A final year in St. Mary’s college.
Tell us about your book ‘Blue is not one of her favorite colors’. And when was it launched?
‘Blue is not one of her favorite colors’ is a combination of a short fiction story and a collection of poems that reflects on man’s relationship with nature and poems to break away from the past and hold on to the new light. The book was published by the Notion Press Publisher on the 10th of April, 2019.

What initially sparked your interest in writing and what made you write this book?
After writing a few quotes in ‘your quote’ app, I was more taken into the writing world through the daily challenges and the word of the day that keeps on ringing each day. The old books are mostly very thick and boring with words that may contain beautiful meaning yet most lazy readers give up on them before they even finish the book. This gives me the idea of my working style, it is a new kind of genre with some illustration that will try to keep the pace and interest of the readers throughout the book.

Where do you draw inspirations from?
I was inspired by the people around me, nature and the present society.
What do you hope people take away from your writings?
I hope that through my book I will be able to inspire the readers and motivate them to do all the new things or to create something new and also help them find themselves and do the good things that will benefit the society, nature and them.
