#RECIPE | Manipuri Smoked Fish Curry Recipe by Kupatia Keishing

Weekends are the perfect time for family gatherings and dinners, and what better way to treat your loved ones than with a delicious meal? Today, we have Kupatia Keishing from Manipur, who will be sharing his simple and easy recipe for smoked fish curry. Simple to make, and easily one of our favorites go-to fish chutney/curry. INGREDIENTS Smoked fish Potatoes Onion Tomatoes Garlic Ginger Coriander leaves Cilantro leaves (Burma Dhania). Directions to Cook: Stir fry some finely chopped onions until they turn golden brown. Add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder. Add the chopped potatoes and fry for about 7 minutes with some green chilies (if necessary). Add tomato slices and roughly pounded garlic and stir fry for about 5 minutes, with a teaspoon full of chilly powder, and salt to taste. After a couple of minutes add water and ginger and let it boil for about 10 minutes. Take some pieces of potato and mash them to make a thick gravy. As a child, he used to flip through his grandfather’s art books and as a grown-up, his love for his daughter started an exciting journey of quick sketches. For Emisenla Jamir, the mundane things about life make it beautiful. A writer and an Assistant Professor who teaches literature at Kohima College, she weaves stories with words and draws you in with her charming, comforting and grounded writing. She says, “I’m inspired by everyday life, nature, people and their experiences. It is observations mostly and also an attempt to stay true to myself without deviating into spaces that I have no hold of.”  She published her own book of poetry in 2018, titled Loneliness is an Orange, which speaks about the myriad of emotions we go through everyday. Dina Weber, hailing from Germany, now lives in south India – Mysore. She is the heart behind a small micro-bakery called SAPA sourdough and pastry. Her love for bread extends to more than the science of baking. It comes from the deep importance her mother placed on fresh food and the culture of pouring love and forming communities while creating food.  Dona came to India as a learner, traveller and volunteer but she has found her quiet little corner and is living a truly fascinating, life constantly experimenting and evolving in her bake-house. Fresh plums, creamy matcha, edible flowers, artisanal chocolate and single-origin coffee, she tries to keep all her ingredients as pure as possible.
